Living the ideals
The Scout Oath, Scout Law, Cub Scout motto, and the Cub Scout sign, handshake, and salute.
Welcome
A Plainfield pack since 1982, chartered by The Plainfield Riverfront Foundation and part of Rainbow Council.
Our pack
Cub Scouting is hands-on adventure: campfires and hikes, STEM experiments, service projects, and games that build confidence. Parents and guardians are part of the fun — we do this with our families, not instead of them.
Pack 13 has been part of Plainfield since 1982. We’re chartered by The Plainfield Riverfront Foundation, and many of our families come from public and private schools in District 202. Whether you’re new to scouting or transferring from another pack, we’d love to meet you.
We’re part of Rainbow Council. The council runs day camp, campouts, and other programs at Rainbow Scout Reservation in Morris, along with the pack and den events here at home.
Scouting America
Pack 13 uses the same aims, methods, and vision as every Cub Scout pack in Scouting America.
Vision
Scouting America will prepare every eligible youth in America to become a responsible, participating citizen and leader who is guided by the Scout Oath and Law.
What we aim for
How Cub Scouting works
The Scout Oath, Scout Law, Cub Scout motto, and the Cub Scout sign, handshake, and salute.
A small group, usually the same grade, where Cub Scouting starts.
Badges that mark what a Scout has learned, with the family working alongside them.
Parents and adult family members provide leadership and support so the Scout has a good experience.
Games, projects, songs, outdoor adventures, trips, and service projects.
Cub Scouting focuses on home and neighborhood and strengthens a Scout’s connection to the community.
The uniform shows a Scout is part of the team and displays the badges they have earned.
Aims and methods are from Scouting America’s Cub Scout Aims and Methods page (opens in a new tab).
